A new phase in life

It's been 2 months since I've arrived in Cork, Republic of Ireland..

Departed from Brunei on 17th August to Singapore..

and I was only aware that you're entitled a SGD $20 voucher when you're on a long distance flight!!!
So with Alicia & mine, we have $40 worth of voucher to use..and we decided to spend it ALL ON FOOD!!

 Pezzo's pizza!!

 Dessert afterwards :D

After that, I had a dreadful 13 hours flight from Singapore to London..
vomited on board T_____T air sickness is such a bad experience...

I actually puked twice. It was so bad that I had to buy anti emetics from Boots..

Arrived at Cork safely around 4:30pm. We arrived 10 days earlier than our accommodation's agreement. Prior to this,  I've emailed Victoria Mills Student Accommodation regarding early check in but..they never replied me. We even had to call several times to confirm and secure a room for ourselves!! Fortunately, they're aware that we'll be arriving early and gave us the rooms!! Don't need to sleep on streets! xD hahaha

Rushed to the city centre to get my duvet, pillows and bedsheets..
Was lost and we couldn't find our way to Penneys..so we bought our set in Dunnes Store instead. Limited choice but..yeah..

Come to think of it, my bedsheets look like a guy's. But I love blue as well!!

Groceries shopping :D

We're here at UCC!! :)

The start of our culinary adventure..
Rice!! I'm so so so glad we brought the rice cooker from Brunei. It's so handy now!!
Plus, it's pink in colour!! Super mini size and cute :D

Baked cheese rice

Baked salmon with cucumber and potato wedges

Vegetable green curry & rice

Breakfast :3

Pseudo-kueh tiaw (made with Tagliatelle pasta)

Butter milk chicken (but without curry leaves :<)

Thai style fried rice?? Hahah

Fusilli Carbonara with salmon, broccoli and carrots

Sandwich lasagna

Pseudo-mee mamak (made with spaghetti pasta)

Bibimbap; modified version xD

Vegetarian Japanese wafuu curry (made by June!)

First eat-out at Milano's with Nate

Went shopping with the girls at Penneys and saw these LED lights!! Couldn't resist them!
I bought the coloured ones initially because they looked super dreamy & lovely at the packaging cover..

But they look HORRIBLE!!
So ugly!! :( I was so sad whenever I saw it hanging on my wall..and decided to change it!

Looks so much better now, no? :D

Outdoor Yoga at Fitzgerald Park! It was super cold but it's really cool!!!

Only had the chance to go for twice only..as we couldn't wake up once and they cancelled it on another time due to the bad weather. Since it was getting colder, they stopped the charity yoga..

We also went to the summer concert at Fitzgerald Park..
Sausages..!!

Anyways, so far, my 2 months in Cork had been fruitful, hectic and..'dramatic'.
Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to more adventures in Ireland!

Hopefully, I'll grow through my living abroad independently.
Starting a new phase in life :D
Fighting!!!

Cohort 8 Medicine Graduation || Class of 2015

Time really does fly. It seems like yesterday when I just completed my A-Levels and was all excited for my degree in UBD.

...And after 3 years, I've now graduated from UBD :)
Since usually not everyone couldn't join the convocation (because it's usually held around September and most of us would be off to our partner medical schools already), we had our graduation night in July!

We put alot of effort into preparing it! We even had our graduation photoshoot done by
www.janeching.wordpress.com
janeeching@gmail.com

We really love her work and decided to contact her for our photoshoot! I love all the shots!

Love all the details~

Basically, we had a formal theme, with our white coats and all & a red x white x blue casual theme..
Jane also took individual shots for the formal theme :)

We also took group photos depending on the universities/countries we're going.
#TeamIreland!

I'm happy that all the pictures turned out so pretty! I think Ireland's ones are the prettiest :p hehehe

We then changed to our casual outfits

♥ My Medic8ion girls

Don't you just love the lighting?? Perfect timing!!

My Medic8ion family that helped me survive through UBD days!

I'm also grateful to have meet all these wonderful people and made it through Class of 2015. You guys are the best :D

Jane was so kind and thoughtful to prepare our individual shots and a copy of group photo for each of us!

Cohort 8 Graduation Dinner:
I think my cohort is the first one who organised it in PAPRSB itself :D because the main building was just ready last year..so it's just the perfect venue for us!!
We are also trying to save money because we didn't want our guests to pay for anything so each of us contributed to the budget :)

My invitation card:

Everyone was allocated different tasks and I was under backdrop / Team Decorations!
So excited because I'm very into DIY crafts and art :3
Basically, 2 weeks before the event, we started brainstorming all the decorations. We were allocated $100 for it but decided to go with DIY to save money!!
Floral & fauna theme with 50 shades of blue dress code xD hahaha

Our centrepiece on the dinner table:

The flowers are made using toilet paper rolls! Super impressed with Ling's idea!

Our memory lane, with all our pictures and motivational quotes:

Love the effects of the lights!

Super super proud of our "8". I got this idea from Pinterest :p but with different flowers and colours. Can't believe we made this!! Although we used up quite some paper and crepe paper..but I really love the end result!

"Medicine 2015" using real leaves from our garden and vines from newspapers..
Did out "Co" using coffee-dipped paper :D

Worked on the "Welcome" sign super late..you can see the black background looked patchy :\ but I'm happy it looked neat...? Hahaha

Cheers to the Deco Team!! Best team ever :D

We also ordered our Cohort shirt! FINALLY! After 3 years!
With our names and something that could represent us!
#dreamer

Zaf was so thoughtful to prepare appreciation gifts for all the volunteers who helped us with our event!

I didn't have the picture of our cake but it was quite disappointing because the fondant is too sweet T_____T and the cake itself was rather dry..
Nevertheless, kudos to the cake team for putting in alot of effort for sourcing different types of cakes for us to vote!

Had to go back IHS the next day to clean up the mess. The Sellotape that we used actually left a sticky trail on the floor!! D: We had to use oil and sponge scrubs to clean it...hahahah

Wouldn't have survived my UBD years without them (:
Pillars of my life

I'm now starting a new phase of my life, in my partner medical school.
It's tough but I feel greatful to have come up till this far.
Stay positive!! Fighting!
